Pixels & Frequency is a series about cross medium communication. I want to speak all languages and as an adult we tend to translate one language to another. Here we have a collection of sounds generated from the pixel information contained in digital images. The exposure, composition and contrast within the images affect the sonic outcome entirely. The representation of subject matter within the image has no effect on the sounds whatsoever.
The goal of this collection is not to generate sounds as percise reflections of the digital image files, but to use the images as a means to create sounds. Once the image has been intergrated in to the program it requires human intervention to move the base sound in a direction that I would like it to go in.
*For music producers, the sounds will be availabe for public download soon and when public I encourage you to sample these sounds.
